Rosalie Harrison MBACP PGCE EAGALA Cert.

As a qualified teacher and therapist, Equine Assisted Therapy provides opportunities for me to utilise my skills from both professions to respond to individual client need and to provide a safe, ethical, supportive and effective environment for therapy, learning, personal and professional development to take place.

I have almost twenty years experience of working with both children and adults in a range of educational settings, working widely across the SEN spectrum as well as in mainstream provision and Pupil Referral Units. My training in Integrative Psychotherapy at Northern Guild Psychotherapy and Counselling (UKCP Member Organisation) included both adult and child work in primary care settings and schools and led to my qualification as a psychotherapeutic counsellor. I gained certification as an EAGALA Mental Health Practitioner in 2009.

I have always both loved and feared horses. Throughout my life I have sought out opportunities to be near horses and then felt unsure about what to do next. Through my EAGALA training and my equine assisted therapy work, I have found a way of working and being with horses and people which I find challenging and both personally and professionally satisfying. I look forward to welcoming you to Transitions to explore how we might work together.
