Where I Work

My psychotherapy practice has been based at Sleights and Sandsend Medical Practice, near Whitby, for the last 18 years. I see private clients, NHS patients referred by GPs, and people referred by other outside agencies for a variety of reasons.

How I Work

How I work depends to a great extent on what people need, what they are facing and what they bring to therapy.

I trained in integrative psychotherapy. This approach draws on (and integrates) a range of skills and practices from different schools of psychotherapy.

This way of working allows people to benefit from a “best fit” approach rather than “one size fits all”, and takes into account the differences in people, their needs, their life circumstances and their goals.

I also draw on 25 years experience helping people deal with the impact of physical trauma and serious illness working as an Occupational Therapist and Team Leader in the NHS.

Safe and Ethical Practice

I undertaking regular clinical and professional supervision and review. I also undertake regular training to ensure I keep up to date with practice and developments, and can deliver effective and evidence based practice. This is part of meeting the standards for registration and practice and abiding by the ethical guidelines set out by the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy, and The northern Guild for Psychotherapy and Counselling.

My fees are £45 per session.
